DELTA LTL-X 30-Meter Retroreflectometer

The LTL-X is a fourth generation DELTA retroreflectometer based on proven knowledge from the use of the LTL 2000 and its predecessors. The LTL-X is a hand-held instrument for quantifying nighttime visibility of pavement markings. Based on 30-meter geometry, the LTL-X provides traceable, accurate, repeatable and reproducible retroreflectivity measurements. The LTL-X conforms to ASTM E 1710 instrument standards. Data from the LTL-X can be printed using the built-in printer or downloaded to a computer using the unit’s Road Sensor Control (RSC) software and transferred directly to a Microsoft® Excel spreadsheet.

Flint offers expert maintenance on all DELTA instruments with factory-trained personnel and a ready supply of parts. For more information about Flint’s Annual Maintenance Inspection Program, click here.

DELTA LTL-X 30-Meter Retroreflectometer

Traceability: supplied with calibration reflection standard traceable to an accredited national standards laboratory through an ISO 17025 certified testing and calibration laboratory. These instruments are also supplied with a field calibration standard.

Built-In Printer: the thermal printer allows the user to document and print measurements on site as they are collected. The printout includes information such as the retroreflectivity reading, the user i.d., the type of marking, the date and time, and error indicator, and the GPS location

Built-In WAAS Global Positioning System (GPS)

Wet Test Methods: The LTL-X can measure wet markings for nighttime performance in accordance with ASTM E 2176 “Condition of Continuous Wetness” and ASTM E 2177 “Standard Condition of Wetness”.

Error Detection Warning: This unique feature gives the user an error warning of potential problems such as low battery, full storage log, internal measurement error and for units with the optional GPS, it will give a warning that it has not acquired a fix. Because of these warnings, inaccurate data is avoided.

Measurement Averaging: The LTL-X has the ability to average a preset number of measurements (2 to 25 readings). Users can quickly see if the average of the sample readings meets their requirements.

Interactive ID Labeling: The three distinct ID Labels are Series ID, User ID, and Marking Type

Profiled Marking Measurements: Having the ability to measure pavement markings with higher profiles and longer gaps, the LTL-X can measure profiles up to 14 mm (0.55 in) in height.

Lightweight: weighs only 15 lbs and has a retractable handle which includes the control panel making it easier to use and carry.

Fast Measurement Speed: With a measurement time less than 0.5 seconds and only 1 second between measurements, users spend less time on the roadway, therefore, increasing worker safety.
